If you’re a fan of Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, Bob Seger or Dire Straits, The Disparrows are sure to win you over. Their new record “Making Others Rich” - produced by Grammy Award winner Ken Wallace and edited/mastered by Anthony Focx (Aerosmith, Foreigner, Santana) – is available now.
Delivering a blend of existential heart-driven rock from their souls to the world, The Disparrows continue to impress with their sophomore album, “Making Others Rich.” The defining sound of core members Daniel Weber (lead vocals, guitar), Stephen Tecci (bass, vocals) and Grant Loosvelt (keyboards, vocals) is richly inspired by a vast musical spectrum, and rooted in the emotions and energy of life itself.
Formed in 2010, the Los Angeles-based group takes a DIY approach to all aspects of the band, symbolizing the true nature of the American dream. Their self-titled debut, released in February 2011, introduced The Disparrows as a tight cohesive unit with each member’s personal style and musical talents complimented throughout. This harmony is exemplified in the band’s live performances, and brilliantly showcased in their latest effort.
Exuding dynamic blues-influenced rock that can not only be heard, but also felt, The Disparrows represent one of life’s key quests: Working hard to earn what you get, and fighting harder to keep it.
Listen. Love. Feel.
Daniel Weber (Lead Vocals/Guitar) – From Brooklyn, NY. First picked up a guitar at age 12. A broken arm inexplicably turned him into a much better player and he’s been rocking ever since. Dubbed “Dirrty” by a previous band member who thought his guitar playing was “dirty” nasty in a good way. A prolific songwriter whose vision and instincts help drive the band, even when they’re not exactly sure what direction they’re going. After previous lives in multiple bands, The Disparrows is the band Daniel always dreamed of playing in.
Stephen Tecci (Bass/Vocals) – From Austin, TX. Cut his teeth on the famed New Orleans music circuit. From the very first time jamming with Daniel, he sensed the two had a kinetic spirit between them. Describes playing with the band at times as a near out-of-body experience. “I’ve often looked down at my fingers mid-song and wondered, who’s doing that?”
Grant Loosvelt (Keyboards/Vocals) – From Detroit, MI. Agreed to join the band before ever hearing a note of material. That’s perfect Grant. Like his name, he’s loose and easy going; but don’t be fooled by his laid back, as the wind blows attitude. This son of a dentist is the band’s resident musical “doctor.” An accomplished pianist and the most formally trained of the group, he smoothly operates between the background and the foreground, tickling the ivories with masterful skill and precision.
